Fat Injections
The use of the patient's own body fat as a filler is a very old concept that recently has made a comeback. It had fallen out of vogue because of unpredictable results and its dependency on the surgeon’s skill and technique.
The fatty material has the advantage of being compatible (autologous) with your own tissue, thus eliminating any possible allergic reaction, rejection or disease transmission. The fat is usually obtained from the area around the umbilicus or the thighs and hips. Harvesting this natural body fat adds extra time and expense to the procedure.
